Investigating how light works
We have had a fab afternoon investigating light. First of all we played find the object in a darkened room and discovered that dark is the absence of light.Then we completed some self led investigations to find out how light behaved with different materials.

Interviewing Noah
This week we looked at the story of Noah. We prepped some questions we would have liked to ask him about how he felt when he was asked to build his ark and then hot seated his answers. Some great investigative work class 2.
Electrical Conductor?
Class 2 have been busy investigating metal conductors in their second design and technology lesson in the term. Year 4 used metacognition to recall their previous knowledge about circuits and conductors. Great work everyone!
Outdoor Maths
Lots of maths outside this week. The children investigated place value on the playground, creating giant number lines and hoola hoop part whole models.

Rice Crispies Pollination
This afternoon we have investigated the process of pollination. We used rice crispies as the pollen which then travelled to the other children who were our flowers. We love our practical science.

Comparative testing in Science
This week I’m science, we investigated conditions needed for plant growth. We then removed one condition from each plant to see what will happen. We will keep you posted with the results.
Plant dissection in the outdoor classroom
We had a fantastic start to our new science topic this week.
We explored the different parts of a flowering plant by carefully dissecting tulips and making observational drawings. We then labelled our diagrams using scientific language.
Fieldwork in the local area
Today we delivered our geography surveys to the local area. We are hoping to collect some data about amenities in the village. We enjoyed our walk and spoke to lots of residents about what they may like.
