Money, money, money!
Year 3 have started their maths unit of work looking at money. They have enjoyed exploring reasoning questions with concrete resources (coins) to help cement their understanding. A great start year 3!
How can you create a watercolour wash background?
Class 2 have continued their at unit by investigating watercolour washes. They tried very hard to create the appearance of moving water. Great watercolour work everyone!
Geographical enquiries in our local area
Class 2 turned into geographers this morning and had a fantastic morning completing transport surveys in our local area.
We created an enquiry question, collected our date and then presented our data back in the classroom.
Creating media- templates
Class 2 have continued their computing topic by looking at templates. Today they recapped portrait and landscape orientation, learnt about placeholders, created paper templates for magazine page and then created a google document magazine template. Great work everyone!
Practical Science in Class 2
We had a fantastic science lesson this week. We investigated how fluid in our bodies helps to protect our organs by placing eggs in glass jars with and without water and giving them a good shake. Why don’t you ask us what we discovered.
Manipulatives in Maths
Year 3 have done some fantastic maths today, they were able to add unit fractions successfully using the fraction cubes.
Painting
Class 2 have started their final art unit of the year, painting. Today they explored painting primary colours and mixing to make secondary colours with watercolours. A super start to the topic.

Science enrichment and fun!
Class 2 were invited to Drayton Manor to trial their science enrichment on Forces and electricity. We had lots of fun learning about motors and magnets and then seeing them in action in the theme park. We were even treated to a few goes on the rides! What a fabulous day we had.
Mass and measures in maths
Lots of problem solving in maths today. We used the balance scales to help us visualise our mastery problem and balance the scales to calculate missing mass.

Creating branching databases
Class 2 have continued their learning about branching databases by applying their knowledge of yes and no questions, attributes and grouping to enable them to create branching databases on the Chromebooks. They then swapped computers to test each other’s databases. Great work everyone!
