Class 1

We enjoyed exploring doubles in the outside area today playing our caterpillar games.

We have been enjoying our Stickman story this week. We collected sticks in Forest School to make our very own family tree and then used paints to print them on to paper. 

In science we have been learning about the 5 oceans of the world. We read a fantastic story called ‘Fish’ which was all about our oceans and how they were being filled with rubbish. We then collected rubbish found in the ocean and tested whether it floated or sank. We had some great discussions…

We have had lots of fun so far this week in Maths, exploring 3d shapes and patterns. The children have shown that they can all recognise repeated patterns and have been very creative making in their own. Take a look at our fabulous repeated patterns. Great work everyone!

This week in Class 1 we have been perfecting our skills when reading and writing the ‘air’ and ‘ear’ trigraphs. The children have been fantastic at reading the words, writing lists and then using them in sentences. Well done Class 1!
 

This week our super scientists in Class 1 used their knowledge of materials to build boats. We then tested them to see how many cubes they would hold.

Today we continued being super scientists by exploring which biscuit has the best properties to make a good dunker.

The winner was…..the mighty custard cream!

We had a fabulous time during our Paddington themed week. The children completed activities about London, wrote about Paddington Bear and the best part of the week… making Marmalade sandwiches! YUM!
