I’m so proud that The Howard are able to carry on the tradition of May Queen, albeit now in June. With special thanks to Gemma Gilbert, who gives up her time every year to make the sashes. This year, she is co ordinating the dances too! We could not do it without her!
How special that past Howard students, help to pass down this tradition.
We can’t wait to crown our queens and dance around the May Pole on the 22nd June.
it’s lovely to know that children never change,
Here is a May Queen of 1932. Do you notice her dirty knees?
She had dirty knees as she had climbed a tree moments before and her mom was cross!!!
