Collect information about a news event. For example – The Battle of Hastings or a recent event- e.g. school closures.

Write the information down using bullet points- using the 5 w’s

Imagine you are a news reporter and you are interviewing someone who was there. What questions would you ask them? Write down what they would say in the interview to relay the most important information. Remember to use inverted commas.

Use the inverted commas PowerPoint to help recap how to use inverted commas.

Think carefully about

  • what they need to live near
  • the types of houses they lived in
  • the materials they used
  • what they need to survive

Write a list of jobs which each person in the settlement would need to do.

Use the internet and the videos provided to research your ideas.
