We were so lucky to get to meet Lee Mead at the Garrick Theatre this week, what an amazing experience! He was so lovely, answering a million questions ranging from "what's the worst thing that's gone wrong on stage?" (answer - his loincloth dropping off as Joseph!), "Could he remember all Joseph's brothers names?" (no, but our children were happy to tell him!), to what inspires him, lots of information about his time as Joseph, and most importantly, what his favourite football team is (Chelsea, he had dreams of being their top striker). He told the children all about being Joseph, how the musical had been part of his life since he was a child, and even let them try on his famous coat, from the original London Palladium show. Amazingly, it's one of only 4 in the world, the other illustrious owners are Donny Osmond, Jason Donovan, and Philip Schofield. Quite a group to be part of!
We were all so inspired by the visit, we can't wait to get rehearsing again. Thank you so much to Lee Mead for his time, and for tweeting about us afterward @leemeadofficial
