Today our focus book, Flower Power, was brought to life with a visit from the author, Caroline Wedd. She spoke to us about her inspiration and reason for writing the book. We asked her questions and joined in with movements and songs to bring the book to life.

The children have had wonderful start to our school year. They have been enjoying whole school book, ‘Flower Power’ and completing lots of exciting activities. Here is a snapshot of our Reception children, busy at work. Well done Reception for a lovely 3 days!

What A Performance!!  This years leavers play was Treasure Island and what a spectacle it was.  The stage looked amazing thanks to Miss Rowland and Miss Delderfield.  The children’s costumes were perfect - right down to Long John Silvers parrot!  The fantastic acting really made the story come…

 Class 2 have been looking at how they can grow a growth mindset. They have learnt the power of the word YET and how thinking positively can open your mind to allow learning in and growth. 
Remember, mistakes are part of learning, resilience is vital and the power of yet!

Year 6 have been working really hard creating their own theme park during maths! They have looked at entrance fee’s, profit and loss as well as Maintenance  and staffs to keep their theme park running. Well done to all the champions across the season. 

In geography we have been looking at the different types of land use. We were then given a scenario - a new supermarket being built in Elford on the cricket field. We looked at pros and cons in relation to the impact on the village. We then put our points forward in a brilliant team debate.

What an amazing morning at Waterstones and The Hub cafe Lichfield. We really enjoyed collecting our choice of free book and enjoying a tasty hot chocolate to finish the morning!
