Wow!

What a great introduction to our Fizz Pop Science club.

We can’t wait to see what the children get up to.

We have continued our writing about Evolution by beginning our Charles Darwin non-chronological reports. 

Our Y1 and 2 children have been learning all about Josiah Wedgwood. They have looked in some detail at his different vases, the colours that are typical of Wedgwood and the designs that have been used. On Wednesday last week, they explored colours with Ms Carter. The children investigated how we…

Reception have been exploring the numbers 1, 2 and 3. The have been on number hunts, counted out different objects, subitised to 3 and practised writing the numerals. Great work Reception!

Class 3 have been using How the Whale Became as inspiration for their creative writing this term.  There were many variation created such as 'How the elephant got its trunk' and 'How the snake shed its skin'.

We have had a busy couple of weeks in forest school, climbing trees, experimenting with natural colours to make paints, carving and modelling with clay and natural materials and of course den building.

The children had great fun this afternoon, labelling the different parts of Miss Kaur. With support they read the labels and as a group decided where to stick the label on Miss Kaur! Super work Reception!

We have been busy in science today investigating different species and why they are endangered. 
We created fact files based on our chosen animal.

We’ve worked so hard on our portal stories based on our class book Leon and the Place Between.

Today we finally completed them and spent time with our proofreading partners to edit and improve our work.

Reception have the spent the week exploring mass and capacity. They have enjoyed lots of practical tasks to explore these concepts. Super work children!

Years 1 and 2 have been studying Autumn poetry this week. They have looked at the five senses, been on nature walks and written their own poem on national poetry day. To finish off the week, they have performed their poems with their partners on the class 1 stage! Excellent work children!
