International Day of European Languages
Today we have celebrated International European Day of Languages.
Each group has discovered how to say hello in a different language. Why don’t you ask us to share our new language with you today.
What makes a balanced diet?
Class 2 have been looking at how to eat healthily in PSHE. They have looked how the traffic lights on food packaging helps us to make informed decisions about some of the food we may chose to eat. They have also explored and created their own Eatwell Plates. Well done, class 2.
Classification Champions
I have seen some fantastic learning in class 2 this afternoon.
We have learnt how to classify by creating keys for our class and then for sweets.
We have created sensible questions to split different sweets and had some fantastic scientific conversations.
Exploring digital devices
Class 2 have started their first computing unit of this school year by exploring what a digital device is. They then explored the concept of ‘input, process, output’ with the BeeBots.
Puppet masters
Class 2 worked very hard creating puppets to present the story Flower Power to class 1 children. All of the children retold the story and some even included songs that they had made up. Well done Class 2.
Growing resilience
What a fabulous first day back to school class 2 have had! We have thoroughly enjoyed exploring the theme of resilience through the wonderful book, ‘Flower Power’.
Class 2 worked through real life situations where resilience is needed. We then decorated plant pots and planted seeds of resilience…
Growing a growth mindset
Class 2 have been looking at how they can grow a growth mindset. They have learnt the power of the word YET and how thinking positively can open your mind to allow learning in and growth.
Remember, mistakes are part of learning, resilience is vital and the power of yet!

Debating land use in Geography
In geography we have been looking at the different types of land use. We were then given a scenario - a new supermarket being built in Elford on the cricket field. We looked at pros and cons in relation to the impact on the village. We then put our points forward in a brilliant team debate.
