Class 2

Class 2 have had another fun afternoon exploring British inventors. Today they learnt about Charles Mackintosh. Then they investigated making paper boats waterproof. Such fun!

What an incredible day! 
We have had so much fun making all the different Christmas crafts and can’t wait for our parents to see them.

Thank you so much to all of the wonderful volunteers - we are all feeling very festive.

In science today we used newton metres to investigate how much force was needed to pull cars along different surfaces. We then used our findings to design roads based on John McAdam’s research.

Today we created a picture story book to match the story of Rama and Sita. Each of us took a key part of the story to recreate. We enjoyed learning about how the story linked to Diwali the festival of light.

Year 3 have started their next White Rose Maths unit focusing on Multiplication. To begin this unit, year 3 have looked at equal groups. Great work year 3. 
 

 Class 2 have had lots of fun exploring ‘Stop Motion Animator’ on the Chromebooks. They spent time evaluating what worked and what didn’t before making a final animation. Great work everyone!

What a fantastic morning completing Joe Wicks’ Bearpee Challenge.

We stepped up to his target of completing 1000 burpees in each class and have smashed it!

Class 2 have started their design and technology topic about British inventors. They started by learning about Alexander Graham Bell, the Scottish inventor of the telephone. Class 2 have started their new computing unit learning about animation. To kick us off, we have learnt how to make pictures move! How clever are we? Great work everyone!

Class two’s new text is Escape on Pompeii.

This morning we rewrote the section of the story where the volcano erupts and turned it into a play.

There was some fantastic acting ! 

We have been busy in science today investigating different species and why they are endangered. 
We created fact files based on our chosen animal.

We’ve worked so hard on our portal stories based on our class book Leon and the Place Between.

Today we finally completed them and spent time with our proofreading partners to edit and improve our work.
