Delving further into this term’s value of respect
This week the assembly team performed their drama based around the story of Moses and the Burning Bush. They worked so hard on their performance which helped further enhance our understanding of what respect is and can mean to others.
Evaluating Investigations in Science
In Science this week our investigation centred around identifying the best material to make curtains. We used our lux metres to measure how much light each material allowed through and then used the results to inform our decisions. We then evaluated how we would tweak our investigation next time.
Investigating Shadows
We have worked hard on our scientific enquiry skills this afternoon investigating factors that affect our shadows. We created our own results table, recorded results and formed conclusions from these.
Editing our work in style
Years 3 and 4 have been busy editing their independent writing today. We used our purple pens to correct errors in our work after spotting our errors using our funky glasses.
Bread Baking for Harvest
What a fantastic few days we have had creating bread loaves for our Harvest celebrations.
We worked in our house teams to design and create the loaves to take to church.
We can’t wait for you to see them.
Egyptian Drama
We had lots of fun this afternoon in the outdoor theatre retelling the story of Osiris in our history lesson.
Investigating how to protect our eyes and skin from UV rays
Today we used UV beads to test out how we can protect our eyes and skin from the sun. We tested different factor suncreams to see if they protected the beads and used layers of different transparent materials to investigate how sun glasses protect our eyes.
Measuring light reflection in science
Today we used lux metres to calculate how much light was reflected off different materials. We used our knowledge of the properties of materials to create scientific predictions and then test our theories.
Investigating how light works
We have had a fab afternoon investigating light. First of all we played find the object in a darkened room and discovered that dark is the absence of light. Then we completed some self led investigations to find out how light behaved with different materials.
A visit from Pep the poet
We had a fab afternoon with Pep the poet. He shared some of his poems and got us all involved in some active poetry. We had some dressed as rapping bubbles and some as pirates.
