Chutney making at The Howard
With the help of our wonderful PTA volunteers, we have had a lovely afternoon chutney making with the tomatoes we grew over the summer. All children participated in house groups and created some delicious chutneys that will be available soon.
Creepy Crawly Classification
This afternoon we completed a mini beast hunt in forest school.
We then used classification keys to find out their names and whether they were a vertebrate or an invertebrate.
Phunky Foods Super Surveys
Phunky Foods have been working with Helen today carrying out surveys on healthy snacks.
We shared ideas for healthy snacks and discussed which snacks would be good choices.

International Day of European Languages
Today we have celebrated International European Day of Languages.
Each group has discovered how to say hello in a different language. Why don’t you ask us to share our new language with you today.
Reception Reading Challenge
Reception had a fantastic time choosing their first reading challenge book!
Classification Champions
I have seen some fantastic learning in class 2 this afternoon.
We have learnt how to classify by creating keys for our class and then for sweets.
We have created sensible questions to split different sweets and had some fantastic scientific conversations.

Fun at the Summer Fayre
Wow! What a fantastic afternoon at The Howard Summer Fayre!
A massive thank you to the PTFA who provided refreshments an amazing raffle and brilliant inflatables and also supported the School Council in running the stalls.

Theme park maths!
Year 6 have been working really hard creating their own theme park during maths! They have looked at entrance fee’s, profit and loss as well as Maintenance and staffs to keep their theme park running. Well done to all the champions across the season.
Debating land use in Geography
In geography we have been looking at the different types of land use. We were then given a scenario - a new supermarket being built in Elford on the cricket field. We looked at pros and cons in relation to the impact on the village. We then put our points forward in a brilliant team debate.
The Howard Sports Day
What a fantastic Sports Day!
Well done to all the children who competed brilliantly for their teams!
In the end, Air took the victory - amazing effort by all involved.
