Hello Year 1 and Year 2,
This is your new Home Learning page which we will use whilst we are not at school.
I will add the new learning timetable on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning for Year 1 and 2. Some of your work is practical and some of it you can print off or complete it in your Home Learning Book. The answers are available for some of your work so get your parents to check.
Please note that Maths is now online - complete Week 4 as we are a week behind!
Maths worksheets, for both year groups, can be found both on here and on GoogleClassroom. There are no worksheets on Friday!
From Monday 27 April, daily online phonics lessons will be available for our Year 1 children https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8C8BCB4hvc&app=desktop, please find Guidance Document below.

Year 1 & Year 2 Science – Uses of Everyday Materials Last week we learnt about the properties of materials. This week we’re going to think about what different materials and used for. Some materials are more suitable to jobs than others. Would you make a chair out of wool? Why not? Task 1 Upcycling means you are taking things that you would normally put in the bin and making them into something else. Can you find anything around the house to upcycle? You could use coloured bottle lids to make artwork or turn tin cans into plant pots. Task 2 Choose 5 objects around the house, write what they are and what they’re made out of. Underneath write or say a silly sentence about this item. E.g. My chair is made out of wood. It would be silly if my chair was made out of feathers

Howard’s Got Talent!
Whilst you are learning at home, we would like you to take this opportunity to develop a skill or talent. We would like each and every one of you to choose something you would like to develop, improve or learn.
This could include learning a language, perfecting a skill, like baking a Lemon drizzle Cake, improving your handwriting, completing a book collection, tying shoe laces and doing up buttons or even completing a Rubix Cube.
It is entirely up to you.
Remember to post an update, picture or video of your progress on Class Dojo.
When we return, we would like to share our new found skills with the rest of our school. Every child who shares their talent will receive a special certificate in Achievement Assembly.
We can’t wait to see what your new skills and talents are upon our return.
Team Howard
Looking after our mental health during these uncertain times:
Support activities for children:
Create a diary throughout your time at home. Make a note of what you’ve been up to, how you’re feeling, any questions going around in your head.
Write a letter to a friend or relative that you can’t see at the minute.
