Halloween Sale
It’s been a terrific start to the autumn term, which came to a spook-tacular end. The PTFA has been
in full-swing planning events and special initiatives for all to enjoy throughout the term, and what
better way to celebrate the last day before half term than with a Halloween costume and bake sale.
Pre-loved costumes were kindly donated by parents and friends of the Howard, allowing everyone to
bag a bargain and minimise waste.
We know that Halloween costumes are often bought and worn
once, so this way we were able to close the loop by reusing and recycling within our community.
Thanks to all who donated and bought nearly-new costumes, and in turn, helped fundraise too.
Nothing went to waste! Leftover costumes were donated to Class One to add to their ever-growing
role play and dress up selection. Little witches and wizards putting the ‘spell’ into spelling!
For even more skele-fun, we set up a themed bake sale on the playground at pick-up with a spooky
selection of sweet treats to buy. Special thanks to our bakers Sadie, Ella, Emma, Julianne, Naomi and
Nicki who all conjured up some wonderfully creative (and slightly creepy!) cakes and biscuits.
Headless gingerbread men, eyeball macaroons and wriggly worm cakes to name a few! These fang-
tastic bakes went down a treat with all our hungry little humans – with a queue lining up down to
the school gate. Here’s hoping the grown-ups got a look-in too! Thank you to everyone involved;
those setting up, selling and signal-searching (those pesky card machines!) and all who came along.
Thanks to the support of our amazing school community, we exceeded our ‘ghouls’ and achieved a
hair-raising £129.53. No tricks, just treats for everyone!
