This term we are designing, making and evaluating mechanical fairground rides. Having created circuits we then had to investigate how motors and pulleys could operate a merry - go - round. Working in pairs we then had to begin to build the frame to support the ride.
Some of the skills we have been using are:
cutting with a hack saw and cutting block
measuring length and angles
fixing using glue guns
problem solving
The next stage will be to work on the aesthetics of our Christmas themed rides.
