Our PTFA elves have been so busy working behind the scenes this month to make the
festive period one to remember. It’s undoubtedly been the busiest (and most wonderful!)
time of the year, all thanks to our team of little helpers. Santa’s crew has got competition!

One of our favourite festive events of the year, The Green Christmas Fayre, saw so many
parents, friends and community members come together to create a spectacular evening of
fun. Not only did so many children join us after their exciting day at the pantomime, but even
last year’s leavers came along to help out too. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful
community of past, present and future friends of The Howard (and not a Scrooge in sight!)
When we come together, we create magic – and money for the school too!

The village hall was bustling with excitement, filled with stalls, festive games, food and
refreshments, adorned with tinsel and set to the sound of Christmas jingles. The bakes were
delightful, and the mulled wine went down a treat. As the crowds grew, one special guest
snuck in to bring cheer to all the children, with a familiar face joining him – our very own Elf-
ord VIP! So many faces watched in wonder as Santa took to the stage to share a Christmas
story and a special chat with some of our littlest helpers. Big thanks to the big guy for joining
us for one night only!

We are so grateful to everyone involved in the planning, set up and running of this fantastic
event. Thank you to Kerry, Lou, Sarah (and all the family!) on toys, Julianne, Evleen and
Laura on the bar, Emily on the maker’s table, Emma on clothing, Katie on tombola, Rachael
and Dee on front of house, Jemimah on gingerbread decorating, Claire’s Tipsy Treats and all
of our beloved leavers for coming back to help out. Last but not least, thank you to all who
came along and helped to make another event such a huge success.
The Green Christmas Fayre raised a fantastic £772.23, which will be gifted straight to school
and will help to make the new year a happy one.
