Wow, what a World Book Day!
We decided on a WBD with a twist this year in the hopes of not only inspiring a love of reading by showcasing different books, but also inspiring us as individuals. Our focus book Salt in his Shoes, based on the life of Michael Jordan, did just that. We unpacked the story identifying the resilience, courage and strength showed by the famous basket ball player and our activities flowed from there. From biographies to basketball drills, getting crafty to planting in shoes we have had the best day!
Throughout the day we have also had sessions from Elite dance culminating in the most epic basketball inspired street dance! We hope you all enjoyed it - we certainly did.
Our fantastic reception journeyed through 5 authors today, creating frog puppets, fruit kebabs and Van Gough art and also having a sneaky disco in Mr Wynn’s office. We hope they found a new book to enjoy!
